Zelenskyy Signals Push to Restart Trilateral Peace Talks with Russia
In a televised address, Zelenskyy said Kyiv hopes the renewed talks will include European partners and stressed that Ukraine is prepared to take steps toward renewed negotiations, while expressing expectation that Russia will not avoid participation.
He also claimed that Russia may be considering additional military operations in northern Ukraine, particularly along the Chernihiv–Kyiv axis near the border with Belarus, and said Ukraine is reinforcing its defenses in anticipation of potential threats.
Zelenskyy warned Belarus against deeper involvement in the conflict, stating that such a move would carry serious consequences, while accusing Moscow of repeatedly attempting to draw Minsk further into the war.
He also said Ukraine’s long-range strikes on Russian infrastructure continue to be effective, citing damage to energy-related facilities including oil refineries and storage sites, which he described as key components of Russia’s wartime revenue system.
The Ukrainian leader added that several operational goals set for May were largely being met, according to his assessment, as reported.
